Here is a little extract from Alan Bleakley's The Animalising Imagination. It made me stop and think about how this really is how people interact with animals, it seems the animal is never just simply an animal. Although I acknowledge that my expeiance with farm animals does partly fit into the a relationship based on business/ a need to eat. There is a feeling when spending time with an animal with out identifying(over identifying) with it, I know I'm going to have it killed and will eventually eat it but while it is alive it is just an animal. I thought everyone thought this way, when encountering a sheep but apparently it is not so.
